Sushi Rice
yields 4 cups
Ingredients
- 4 cups rice (short-grain white is best)
- 4 cups water
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Rinse and drain rice. Add water, cooking it in a rice cooker.
- Combine sugar, vinegar, and salt into a small bowl or saucepan. Heat bowl in microwave for two minutes, or saucepan on stovetop until sugar dissolves.
- Cool liquid mixture and cooked rice. Combine cooked ingredients, stirring until completely mixed.
